I’ve been working by myself as a portrait and boudoir photographer. As from now on, I’ll be working with my partner, with whom I share my life, Michael Wohlwend, to address, both as photographers, another facet of life.
The wedding. That moment which is so often associated with a “new beginning”. For us, the wedding is the ritual expression of commitment between two, of a history of two, a story about love and its vicissitudes that began in the past. It’s not a new beginning, but an inscription in the ceaselessly motion of life.
In life, everything happens at the same time. We all carry the past in the present, in our hearts, from which expectations about the future grow. Even Time is emotionally hard to grasp, as memories flow simultaneously through the mind. The significant other is everything. And this everything exists and it’s expressed in the shared secret gestures and intimate details.
It’s the singularity of these ephemeral and persistent utterances of history that the wedding celebrates. It’s this ephemerality we capture and eternalize.
